Age of Empires is a real-time strategy game that marked the beginning of the Age of Empires franchise of the same name. The Rise of Rome expansion expands the playable countries to 16. Manage units and equipment. Use your troops to attack enemies, take care of buildings, collect resources, and so on. Get 4 types of resources: gold, stone, wood and food. Stone allows you to build buildings and erect walls. Wood is needed to create buildings, ships, farms and bows. Food is needed to feed the units, and gold is spent on technology development and army training.
The main goal of tasks often comes down to defeating the opponent, but the mechanics are much wider. Engage in diplomacy, look for allies, unite with neutral factions and fight enemies. Trade, exchange raw materials, help your allies with troops. The Age of Empires campaign consists of 4 scenarios: Rise of Egypt, Glory of Greece, Voices of Babylon and Empire of the Rising Sun Yamato. Depending on the campaign, they can include from 8 to 12 missions. Multiplayer game allows up to 8 players to compete at the same time.
