In Age of Wonders, the player will have to solve a large-scale conflict between humans and elves with the ability to make their own decisions. This is a classic turn-based strategy with well-drawn isometric graphics and a soundtrack that complements it well. Events have a large-scale prehistory. Centuries ago, the elves agreed to allow nomadic tribes of humans to settle in their lands. But in the end, the elven government was overthrown by the settlers, and only the king's children, Meandor and Julia, survived from the entire royal family.
Two campaigns are available to the player, in each of which the main characters are the surviving prince and princess. Julia's scenario tells about the organization of the Guardians, which she created to restore the elven kingdom. The main goal of Meandor was revenge on the treacherous human tribe. To do this, he creates the Cult of the Storm. Each of the game's campaigns has three endings, which depend on the player's decision.
An important feature of Age of Wonders is the combination of global and local maps. When reviewing the whole world, you can send troops to different areas, as well as interact with other races and alliances. In battle, there is a switch to the battlefield, which is quite large. Up to 56 units can take part in each battle. In addition to the story mode, single and random maps are available. They can be played as any of the 12 races. Multiplayer is also supported, both local and online.
