Albert and Otto is a hybrid platformer and puzzle game. The action takes place in an alternate reality in Nazi Germany. In 1939, the boy Albert and the rabbit Otto travel through a gloomy world to save a girl named Annette. The story is not over, as this project is only the first episode of three planned.
Albert and Otto is similar to Limbo. Here is a similar visual style using a minimal amount of colors. The child is armed with a rifle and can jump, drag things, walk and run. The rabbit is able to penetrate into hard-to-reach places and strengthen the main character. As you progress, new abilities open up. The duo will learn how to control objects and electric manipulators, as well as jump and fly higher. Here you can also attract objects.
There are many puzzles here, but the difficulty lies not in finding solutions, but in their very implementation. The main focus is on jumping, accuracy and timing. It may take several attempts to overcome some points. Often, local puzzles force virtual sheep to be treated cruelly: feed them to wolves, set them on fire, drown them. Boss battles are present. The leaders here are represented by robots.
There are no saves during races. In case of death, you will have to start the whole level again. A young man can die in many ways: being eaten by animals, falling under falling stones, running into thorns, being attacked by a bird of prey, etc. There are bugs in the game. Still not the most responsive management.
