A rather rare and little-known arcade game, simple in form and complex in content.
Two heroes, a man and a woman (you can choose who you will play as), located on a spaceship captured by malicious aliens, you need to get to the emergency hatch, saving the crew members from the clutches of aliens and having time before the big bomb explodes (game formally limited in time).
The gameplay is a fairly standard top-down and sometimes side-scrolling arcade shooter. We run forward and destroy enemies, collecting rare bonuses. The enemies themselves are rather unusual: this time they are toothy worms or slugs that can suddenly appear directly from the floor and eat the hero (rather unusual). At the end of each level, a boss awaits us - as a rule, also very interesting. Bosses, by the way, in the game are slightly anthropomorphic. It is also necessary to note the presence of special "cartographic" screens - approaching this, you can immediately examine the map of the entire level.
The graphics for the release year look pretty decent, especially in the "side" mode (turns on during the fight with the bosses). Both the character and especially the interiors of the ship are well drawn, in some scenes the graphics seem almost three-dimensional. The last feature worth noting is the ability to play both heroes simultaneously on the same computer.
More, alas, there is nothing to say. A good and rather difficult arcade game with unusual opponents, Alien Syndrome will surely appeal to many fans of the classics of the genre.
