Amnesia: Rebirth is the sequel to the cult horror series Amnesia. In the first part of The Dark Descent, the developers relied on sharp screamers, and in Amnesia: Rebirth, the degree of nightmare increases gradually. Gamers are waiting for new characters, locations and dangers. The protagonist is the Parisian Tasi Trianon, who went on a business trip in 1937. Suddenly, her plane crashes. A girl wakes up in the middle of the Algerian desert after losing her memory and discovering that dangerous creatures are after her. Each enemy behaves differently, and the meeting with them ends in the same deplorable way.
Like the previous parts of the series, the storyline is tied to the mysterious spheres. Archaeologists who found these relics became hostages of an ancient curse. By touching the artifact, a person releases the evil imprisoned there, which pursues its victim and kills those with whom it contacts. Tasi, too, will face a terrible shadow that feeds on her fear and awakens her worst memories.
Locations have become much more diverse - from open spaces to narrow corridors. The behavior of opponents is unpredictable. The basis of the gameplay has been preserved: the user will explore the area, solve puzzles and hide from pursuers. It is necessary to avoid skirmishes with monsters in every possible way, because the main character is neither a soldier nor a scientist. The gamer will be able to feel the helplessness of Tasi, who does not have any tools to fight monsters. The game clearly shows the influence of SOMA - another project of the studio, which provides food for thought, putting before a moral choice and throwing up new philosophical questions.
