Anachronox is a 3D 3rd person RPG. The project was created and implemented by the Ion Storm studio. The game was officially announced in June 2001. This media product was created on the basis of the Id Tech 2 game engine, with a noticeable improvement in the field of light transmission.
The plot of the game: in the distant future, space researchers have discovered a mysterious planetoid, which turned out to be a portal to another galaxy. Soon, this planet has turned into a large metropolis, in which business life is in full swing around the clock. The city grew on trade with the colonies of pioneers who settled in another galaxy. The city was named Anchronox.
Our hero lives in the southern part of the metropolis. By the will of fate, he gets involved in a dangerous adventure in which he will face some of the most dangerous creatures in the universe. With a third-person perspective, and a significant influence from the action genre, this project can still be described as a fairly conservative role-playing game.
The game received a lot of positive reviews and is considered to this day a classic of role-playing games in a science fiction setting.
