Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures is a platform game dedicated to primitive old school games, which has become a parody of James Rolfaretro's online show - AVGN Adventures. It neatly pokes fun at the video games reviewed by the host and makes references to the events and themes of the show. The main highlight is the increased difficulty of passing.
There are 4 characters to choose from:
- Nerd is a hero, access to which is initially open.
- Guy with a guitar - attacks using shots flying through walls along a sinusoid. Runs fast and jumps low.
- Mike Matey - different speed of movement and high jumps, uses a lightsaber.
- Bullshit Man - capable of low double jumps, moves slowly, but deals maximum damage.
Nerd and his friends were about to play a bad video game for fun, but everyone was suddenly sucked through the TV into the in-game world. A huge hand draws in the company, and the hero receives a light pistol as a weapon. The guy needs to save his comrades and return from the world of video games, defeating all the enemies in the process. The game has 9 levels, the last of which is the final one. The levels are played in any order, and their design has references to the show itself.
In platforming, the hero runs through the levels, avoiding danger and passing obstacles and killing enemies. Blocks with skulls, capable of destroying a character with one touch, became difficult obstacles here. At the end of each level there is a boss that you need to fight. The passage is accompanied by Nerd's comments in the form of pop-up messages. In case of failure of the task and the death of the hero, Rolf's strong words come up. The game takes place at different difficulty levels, but even at the minimum you have to use dexterity and ingenuity.
