Anodyne 2: Return to Dust is a role-playing adventure that continues the franchise that gained popularity thanks to the successful first part. The game combines gameplay in two planes - two-dimensional and three-dimensional. The first of them is a platform game with special tasks for the player. The second one provides more mechanics and characters, but the main action takes place in 2D. A project from indie creators from a small development studio, it has full support for most controllers that are on the market for computer accessories, simplifying controls for gamepad fans.
The storyline of "Anodyne 2" tells about an unknown infection that captures people living on the territory of Novaya Zemlya. The gamer gets the role of Nova - a nano-cleaner that penetrates deep into the human body in order to clean the cavity from the inside in order to cure a person of a disease, which is called “Nova Dust”. The main weapon against enemy units is a special vacuum cleaner designed to fight the breeding infection. The goal of each 2D stage is to clear the dungeon, which is a human body. 3D missions are about exploring open areas, with freedom of movement in them.
