Antichamber is an unusual puzzle game where the player manipulates space. Reality is altered in each room in its own way. One location can be crossed through the air, in another - fall into the abyss. The only constant element of the environment is the "entrance hall", where there is a schematic plan of the already passed segments of the path. The game has no plot and no narrative. Each room is a new surprise, experiment and challenge for the user.
At a certain stage, a gun will appear in the gamer's arsenal. The weapon controls multi-colored block cubes, blocks lasers and allows you to solve various optical puzzles. Also, the player will be able to build bridges, craft stairs. As you progress, new abilities open up. The open world has many forks to explore. There are several exits from each room.
The gameplay is characterized by increased complexity and absurd decisions. Difficulty does not increase gradually, but varies in leaps and bounds. The locations are dominated by laconic forms and bright colors. In some places, posters with veiled clues are posted. All found leaflets are stored in the menu, where they can be seen again. Already solved puzzles are displayed on the map, which allows you to return to the selected stages at any time. This game is a journey through visual illusions and paradoxes.
