The genre of the game is smash 'em up with a shooter. We play as a character who is trying to get out of the clutches of the invaders. On the way to freedom, we will use opponents as human shields, take away their weapons and armor. And, as a bonus, the developers added a lot of jazz to the game as musical accompaniment. APE OUT is one of those games that doesn't overwhelm you with its difficult plot, but keeps you on your toes all the time.
Our character is a gorilla. Despite the fact that primates have not yet received such development, the main character can pick up weapons, but not shoot from them. For example, throw a gun at an enemy to deal some damage. Also, the basis of the game will be the capture of the enemy, and using it as a human shield. This practice will help you complete the game with a minimum number of deaths.
Opponents die easily, and this plays into our hands. However, there will be so many enemies that sometimes it will be incredibly difficult to escape from the labyrinth in which we have been imprisoned. If we die, then we start the game from the very beginning, but at the same time, artificial intelligence re-generates the levels, so remembering the layouts of the cards and continuing to go through the levels with the phrase: “I know where to go here” will not work.
A feature of the game was jazz music. Each new level is either a composition or an entire album recorded by professional musicians. Believe me, crushing people from the perspective of a gorilla will be more interesting if the rhythm quickly changes to three quarters, and the saxophone helps with its sounds!
