ARKTICA.1 is a dynamic VR shooter built on the 4A Engine platform. The player will play the role of a defender of a colony based on the territory of post-apocalyptic Russia.
The general atmosphere of the game is largely determined by the snowy and desert landscapes, the gloomy beauty of abandoned buildings, perfectly emphasizing the desperation of the situation in which people found themselves after the onset of a new ice age. A relatively normal existence of human civilization is possible only in the equatorial regions, and the few outposts remaining in the north are left to their fate and are in a state of constant struggle for survival. Marauding groups, bloodthirsty mutants and aliens add fuel to the fire.
In the system of military weapons, there are no rifles and shotguns familiar to gamers. Instead, the game offers the flexibility to upgrade pistols. For the currency received as a reward at the end of the mission, it is possible to purchase unique upgrades, for example, devices that allow the bullet to go around obstacles.
Arctica.1 boasts high detail and elaboration of all eight hours of gameplay, the intensity of gunfights, as well as an implemented high-score system that partly compensates for the linearity of the plot.
