Avadon 2: The Corruption continues to explore the land of Linias. After the events of the original, a civil war rages in the fantasy world. The user is again working for the Avadon organization, whose headquarters is located in the Black Fortress, as a spy and is trying to normalize the difficult situation. To immerse yourself in the atmosphere, it is not necessary to first get acquainted with the original source. In comparison with it, the presentation of the plot has improved, and there are more endings. Also increased freedom of action.
Like the first game, Avadon 2: The Corruption is an old-school RPG. In this RPG, the emphasis is on reading a lot of dialogue and complex turn-based combat. The battles here are both tactical and dynamic. The player's wards go first, then the enemies. Opponents actively use the skills and items that are in their inventory. In the sequel, the party size is 3 people, including the protagonist. But the number of classes has grown to 5. To the thief, mage, warrior and druid, a sorcerer has been added, capable of installing turrets. There are three specializations available for each of these professions. There is a leveling of skills and characteristics. The game allows you to redistribute already invested points.
With the help of text, the game describes in detail the environment for the gamer, the appearance of the characters, their mood, and reactions. During communication with the NPC, you can choose replicas. They themselves will treat the main character differently. One stranger will run away at the sight of an employee of the local analogue of the special services, and the other will simply refuse to talk with him, since Avadon has an ambiguous reputation among the population due to the harsh methods of his leadership. Team members also have different attitudes to the actions of the protagonist. There are main and secondary quests. Usually they ask to bring something or kill someone, but the context of what is happening is often arranged in an unusual way.
