Avadon: The Black Fortress is an isometric RPG set in a fantasy medieval setting. In it, the gamer controls the spy organization Avadon. Her agents, nicknamed the Hands, monitor the safety of the Pact concluded by the five states. The enemies of the agreement wanted to plunge the world into chaos and opened the hunt for the employees of this secret group. The protagonist must uncover the plot and prevent enemies. The local story has multiple endings.
The indie project has three large locations. They are full of secret places. The graphics in Avadon: The Black Fortress are very schematic and simplified, so information about the environment is presented through dialog boxes. There is a lot of text in this game. The combat system is turn-based. With a low amount of HP, opponents try to escape from the fight. After the victory, the health of the main character and his comrades is restored (but mana is not).
There is an opportunity to acquire companions in the game. The maximum team size is 4 people. Each character has its own character and mystery. Completing certain missions will help you learn more about their personalities. There are not many main tasks, but it will take a lot of time to complete them. In addition, the main quests are detailed and often present plot surprises. Sometimes during their execution they are given a choice. Secondary quests sometimes also put the user in unusual situations, and also open up hidden areas.
The class system allows you to upgrade the druid, warrior, mage and thief. New abilities are learned in the skill tree. The effectiveness of a particular fighter is also affected by his characteristics: endurance, strength, agility, intelligence. There is a loot. The coolest things are knocked out of elite monsters or are in well-hidden caches. Weapons and armor can be enchanted.
