Bardbarian is an indie roguelike that combines strategy, RPG and tower defense mechanics. The action takes place in the fantasy world of the Middle Ages, where in the universe, in addition to people, there are various monsters and creatures of evil.
The protagonist is a successful retired warrior named Brad, who does not want to get involved in battles and again stain his ax in the blood of defeated enemies, begging for mercy. He converted the murder weapon into a lute and wants to bring music to the world, but he still has to manage the defense of his native castle. Monsters are already at the doorstep and besieging the fortress, and only a seasoned protagonist will be able to build the right tactics and overcome all the waves of attack, preventing a certain number of villains from breaking through the defenses. If the wall falls and too many enemies break through, it will mean the end of the game.
Gradually, as you progress through the storylines of 4 campaigns, the gamer will gain access to new defensive structures and squad members (there are 12 in total), who can be hired to resist the superior forces of an insidious opponent. For the kill, gold will be accumulated, spent on recruiting new members of the army and building up defensive potential. Each warrior can earn leveling points to improve their performance and unlock additional abilities that make a difference on the battlefield, randomly generated every time, as well as the composition of the waves, which can meet 1 of the 4 bosses present in the game.
