Basingstoke is an action-adventure roguelike with stealth elements that is used in specific locations to achieve a goal set by the developers of a small indie team. The arcade controls and fast-paced gameplay work together perfectly to entice large numbers of people to try out Basingstoke. The gamer will have to explore the ruins of the fictional world of the same name, created specifically on the basis of the real Great Britain. The universe is inhabited by giant crowds of monsters and devastated by alien invasions, which adversely affected the prospects for further growth of local residents.
The player will have to take control of more than one character, all subsequent personalities except the starting tourist are unlocked in a special store. Each protagonist has a personal set of unique abilities that are not available to the rest, as well as their own recipes for crafting items from improvised means, which are collected during the exploration of available territories. Collectibles are hidden in the locations - coins of several denominations. They motivate to explore every corner of the map to find all the secrets.
