This is a story about a knight who stands at the crossroads of his own preferences. He decides where he will go and what will depend on his actions. The player will have to go through a long journey through the role-playing world of the game, where the medieval problems of people are so much like the present.
The gameplay begins with the selection and development of the character. You create the appearance, story, motives of the protagonist. For example, you can study magic, master heavy weapons. On the other hand, you can become a skilled diplomat so that you never take a weapon in the whole game. The entire linearity of the process depends on your actions. You will fight on the battlefield anyway, but who will be your opponent? Forces of evil? Desperate knights who want to free themselves from the order? Or peaceful peasants who will give you everything they have for nothing, as long as they do not touch their house?
The medieval setting is a huge open world of Western Europe. The gloominess of the weather is present here at every step. Only in such an atmosphere can one reveal the hero and understand how much it really costs to be a good person in such a bad world. You will have your own squad, which you replenish in cities or villages. People will join you if they like your motives in adventures. Your task is to give them food, water, armor. The protagonist must be taught skills and helped to master new combat techniques. Turn-based medieval strategy - Bastard - is full of interesting places in which social life is revealed from a new perspective.
